On this round log truss building project, the structural engineer specified the Stavebolt® to deal with the tension loads at the bottom of the king post and the need to prevent uplift of the ridge at the top end. Note that the stitch bolt ends are hidden in the top and bottom of the king post while the end of the 3/4" tension bolt is countersunk and hidden in the bottom of the lower chord. Future adjustment for shrinkage in the large lower chord is possible by removing the c/s plug and tightening the 3/4 bolt or nut on the end of the 3/4" T-rod.
